Bio
Douglas S. Baxter, Principal
I attended Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco before earning a Bachelor's of Arts in History at UCLA. Managing a Bay Area antiques gallery during the 1990s, paved the way for my interest in the arts and antiques trade. Continuing to pursue my passion, I moved overseas to attend The Sotheby's Institute of Art, London, and completed their Post Graduate Degree, Works of Art Course in 2000. I soon joined the American Society of Appraisers, the oldest accrediting appraisal society in the United States, and practiced for 16 years at an appraisal and estate sales management firm in San Francisco. My senior accreditation with the ASA was earned after thousands of hours of appraisal practice and examinations in personal property with a specialization in antique furniture. Over the past decade, I have developed expertise in the fields of California painting, crafts, metalwares and modern design. My home office is in Western Sonoma County and I frequently travel for valuation projects throughout California.
